Founded by Tony Ellsworth in 1991, Ellsworth Handcrafted was started in Tony’s garage with a passion and desire to build bikes in America with the highest level of American content. Renowned for their ride quality, Ellsworth full suspension bikes carried the unique and patented Instant Center Tracking (ICT) suspension which Tony first patented in 1993. Today, ICT has been refined into Active Energy Efficient Suspension (AEES) which still carries the pedal efficient kinematics and ride essence of the original ICT, but now has improved ride characteristics, stiffer handling, and current geometries today’s professional and enthusiasts are looking for.

What people are saying about Ellsworth bikes.
Ellsworth, I think, has always paid attention to details and styling. Styling is subjective… what I like, you may not, but the attention to detail is still apparent. The Ellsworth Rouge 60 climbed better than expected from a 160mm travel bike. Granted it’s not as efficient or “lively” as a 120mm or cross-country bike, but for a big travel bike it was very comfortable on the trails and not sluggish at all. You could easily spend a day on the trails with this bike without being worn out. The rear suspension was a little stiffer than I normally prefer but it felt stable and supple through the rock gardens and was able to use up the travel. Having said that, I don’t think I ever felt the end of the travel, I only knew I went through it because of the tell-tail o-ring. The travel felt smooth and linear without the harsh ramp at the end. This particular bike was outfitted with Shimano XT…. Shifting was right on and brakes, like very XT, was flawless. The 32t up front, with a 46t cassette was low enough for anything we encountered. Thanks for the ride.
